HK runners do us proud!

Despite the oddly humid January day in Hong Kong, our runners woke up bright and early with anticipation to join more than 70,000 participants for the Standard Chartered Marathon.

In a city where people commute  on a daily basis, it was truly a unique sight to see the train packed with people dressed in running gear unified by the biggest communal sporting events in Hong Kong.

Our 12 runners – including Cian, our CEO’s wife and database manager at Viva in Oxford, UK – represented Viva in the full marathon, half-marathon and 10K races, and everyone finished with flying colors.

One of our experienced runners, Nigel, finished his half-marathon with his personal best time of 2 hours and 32 minutes. One of our new runners this year, Nikki, finished the 10K in a whopping 59 minutes.

All of them were greeted with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and joined us to celebrate over dimsum!

We are so incredibly proud of all of our runners and they are still fundraising for vulnerable children on Fringebacker until the end of February, so please continue to pour in your support for them!
